We Work Hard so we MUST Play Harder

Rich has a client that is a dude from Salomon, super nice guy. He offered Rich a pair of skis and Rich was all, "Oh dude no, um, I am a boarder but I would like to try some day, my wife could use a new pair." So with that came two free pairs of skis, boots, poles and bindings. Then there was mention in the conversation somewhere that we have "a" kid. Rich not wanting to push his luck was like great Logan has a board we would love skis for Rileigh. So henceforth, came skis for what the dude thought would be for Rich, myself and Logan. Well the Logan pair that we originally thought would be awsome for Rileigh just so happen to be very girlie pink with fairies. Can you say SCORE?

It was like Christmas all over again at our house, what a nice dude! We took photos and have been elated. Since then we have taken the kids in between vomiting sessions. But last night was the first time the four of us went together. It literally brought a tear to my eye seeing my family all descending down the hill. Of all places, Powder Mountain, the same place their Momma learned to ski. I caught myself telling the story to the kids on the ski lift like I was an eighty year old grandma telling the tales of old. It was so fun, we had a blast. Powder Mountain closes at nine and I thought for sure we would be cold and gone by eight. No, we closed the place down and only stopped long enough to roast hot dogs in the fire pit. I swear there was a point when I was on the lift with Rileigh and she was telling me a story and it felt like she was all of a sudden this cool little pre-teen.

Logan was the coolest to watch snow boarding. His way of stopping was to fall, but hey what snow boarder is not caked in snow every time you see them at the ski lift. I asked him if he was cold and told him he looked like a popsicle. He said he was fine and some kid in line was all he looks like he's having fun. He did have the biggest grin on his face.

Rileigh started with her pizza manoeuvre and would hold her hands (no offense) like a retard, so funny. Sorry, that is the only way to describe it. Then as the night went on she relaxed and got quicker and better. Today she asked when can we go again.

I have always wanted to start my kids young as skiers and we did it and they did it. SO FUN!

P.S. This is Nellie walking on the snow in our backyard. She loves, loves, loves to be outside. So I try and take her out everyday. Today she went with me to Snow Park Day with the Kindergartners and she loved it. Next photo is the cutest ever and for the life of me could not get it to flip. Oh well it is too cute not to blog!

P.S.S. On a whim Tammy and I took our kids to the Dew Tour up at Snow Basin. Perfect timing, we saw maybe 4 of each event for the preliminaries which was perfect for the kids. We had a good time and got some sun! Photo with the Toyota Yeti!
