The Newest Edition to our Family and Black Island Farms

When Rich and I returned home from the Greatest Place on Earth (Lake Powell) we had a friendly visitor frequenting our garage. Then I later found out Rileigh had been feeding this creature dog food. First let me just put it out there that I am a 100% dog person. B-U-T have since fallen in love with a new kind. This cute little orange kitten.
Nellie kind of likes him too!

After asking around and finding that he must be a stray we did the honorable thing and took him in, the lucky fella get's to be a part of the Whitemyer Family. So we named him Powell, I call him Powellee. He was a treat to come home to and is the orange sand stone color of Lake Powell.
Powell spewing out his pain killer from his cute little hairy balls being snipped, ha ha. Big Shout out to "The Big Fix," a non-profit organization that is a mobile service to "fix" your furry friends for CHEAP!
Although by day five, I wanted to off him to the pound. At first it was a love/hate relationship. The little critter was not litter box trained. So between potty training a 3 year old and litter box training a kitten I am losing my mind. Thank goodness for the internet and it's resources. I am happy to report I have successfully litter box trained a kitten. The three year old well, we will not discuss that until she is 4 years old! Maybe I should google "potty training the Nellsters"...

BLACK ISLAND FARMS

Oh, how I heart this place. I am gonna keep going even when all my kids have grown and moved out. Nellie and I went with some friends from our pre-school co-op group.

Nellie found her perfect little punkin!

Nellie and her new friend Sam on the tractor ride
She could have stayed here all day and we could not have asked for better weather!
Until next year Black Island Farms...do not let UDOT take you over, I would be so sad.

Logan and Rileigh's Baptism {8 Years Old}

What a Special and Memorable Day!

Logan and Rileigh had so much support from friends and family on their Baptism Day.
Family that attended were:
Grandma and Grandpa Thatcher and cousin Kaleb
Grandma and Grandpa Whitemyer
Uncle Matt and Cousin Kat
Uncle Rob, Aunt Nicole and Cousins Kayli, Kayci and Driggs
Uncle Bryan (kind of)

Friends that attended were:
The Martin Family
The White's
The Polad's
The Love's
The Wallace's

Rachel Penrod took the photos for us and I want to say Thank You so much for having them done and ready to go for us...We Love Them!

Logan Wallace
Rileigh Ilene
So proud of them both for choosing to be baptized. We are so blessed to have them in our family.
Logan and Rileigh were Baptized and Confirmed by their Grandpa Thatcher
Typical Logan...when he was told to exit the font after being baptized Grandpa Thatcher said he nose dived and swam out. Grandpa was laughing so hard and said that was typical Logan!

Heaven on Earth 2011

So the much anticipated Lake Powell trip has come and gone. I have been spoiled and got to travel to Lake Powell twice in one year. Love that place so much. We have talked about this trip happening ever since we got off the houseboat 2 years ago. But the Wallace's ALWAYS make things happen and apparently have the power over the weather too! I always say go with the Wallace's and it will be splendid!

One of my favorite parts of an upcoming trip is the anticipation!

Above to the left we have the:
Buss'
Polad's
Wallace's
Hippies (Us)
White's O'Captain!

Pabble Boarding was utter Bliss, in my opinion!

Those Dirty Dirty Dirty Hippies

Home Sweet Home!
Zumba on the Beach with our sweet sound system

Hugh Hefner
Best Pic ha ha!

Catching Dinner

Buss is finishing off our homemade ice cream, Reese's Peanut Butter!

Drayer and his broken hand, he broke while trying to de-pants my man. Chad is forcing his hand to better health in a ice bath.

The Highlights of the trip:

It was over my Birthday! Rich brought a cake and made icecream!

Yoga with friends!
Hearing the roar of the ski boats in the morning!
Meeting new (hilarious) friends!
The Food!

The Hippies brought paddle boards! (oh wait that was us)
Did I mention it was my Birthday!

The Lows of the trip:
I almost got left at Lake Powell wah wah wah...it would not have been half bad because I was with Rich. But he hated being stuck with me because I was kind of freaking out.Thankfully the ladies saved us on a complete whim!

Then we had to see kids, kids for the first time in days!

The Nellsters turned 3!

Nellie Mae turned 3 and I cannot find one Picture from her Birthday! What have I done? I do not even recall if I took pictures or not. Well it was a low key event. We had the Grandparents over for a Bar B-Q.

Moving on, I get the guilts when it comes to Nellie. She is the lone child stuck home with me! When I work mad hours I feel worse. So the pics display some of the shinanigans she gets herself into just for entertainment. There are days I wish she had a twin to play with :(

We recently resolved that and got a kitten (post to come soon)!

She is such a fun kid, not my baby no more. It was like she knew she was turning 3! Two weeks before she turned 3 she turned into a turd. Terrible two's did not apply to this kid she is a 3 year old turd. Good thing we love her lots and I find myself giving in way more with her just to calm the storm of a tantrum she can pull. I even make the kids give into her way too much to pipe her down. I must say she is still fun at times and says the darndest things. She is in a pre-school playgroup and is learning a lot! She asks every day to play with Kayci (her cousin) and Tanner and Tanner's little sister (Taegan). "Where are my friends?" She says!
She recently was playing at Tanner's and came running home all on her own. This was two doors down. She knocked on our door and when I opened it she was butt naked. It was hilarious and I was counting down the seconds for Liz (Tanner's Mom) to show up with her clothes and in a panic!
She is an escape artist and such a social butterfly, naked and all. She keeps the whole family on our toes!
She still requires her sippy and milk OFTEN! She has to sleep with her blankets just right and has a small camping light in her bed with her every night! She hates "spicey" tooth paste ha ha! She freaks out if you drive the car and she is not buckled in. She loves loves loves to play with Logan and Rileigh. Rileigh is "Mom" and I am "Grandma!"
I hate that she is growing up so fast it makes me sad. She still let's me snuggle with her so that is GOOD! She'll say, "Let's get snuggly Mom." Makes my heart melt...
