When Rich and I returned home from the Greatest Place on Earth (Lake Powell) we had a friendly visitor frequenting our garage. Then I later found out Rileigh had been feeding this creature dog food. First let me just put it out there that I am a 100% dog person. B-U-T have since fallen in love with a new kind. This cute little orange kitten.
Nellie kind of likes him too! After asking around and finding that he must be a stray we did the honorable thing and took him in, the lucky fella get's to be a part of the Whitemyer Family. So we named him Powell, I call him Powellee. He was a treat to come home to and is the orange sand stone color of Lake Powell.
Powell spewing out his pain killer from his cute little hairy balls being snipped, ha ha. Big Shout out to "The Big Fix," a non-profit organization that is a mobile service to "fix" your furry friends for CHEAP!Although by day five, I wanted to off him to the pound. At first it was a love/hate relationship. The little critter was not litter box trained. So between potty training a 3 year old and litter box training a kitten I am losing my mind. Thank goodness for the internet and it's resources. I am happy to report I have successfully litter box trained a kitten. The three year old well, we will not discuss that until she is 4 years old! Maybe I should google "potty training the Nellsters"...
BLACK ISLAND FARMS
Oh, how I heart this place. I am gonna keep going even when all my kids have grown and moved out. Nellie and I went with some friends from our pre-school co-op group.
Nellie found her perfect little punkin!

Nellie and her new friend Sam on the tractor ride
She could have stayed here all day and we could not have asked for better weather!
Until next year Black Island Farms...do not let UDOT take you over, I would be so sad.
