5K at Bluff Ridge Elementary

Nicole, my sister, asked the kids and I to attend her Elementary Schools Annual 5K. So on a Hot  Friday at 5 p.m. we were ready and waiting to begin The Bluff Ridge Elementary 5K. Granted this is Logan, Rileigh and Cousin Kayli's First 5K,  (well Kayli did it before, walking, that does not count!). As we are standing there Logan creeps to the front of the crowd as we are waiting to hear "GO." So we (my sister Nicole, Kayli, Rileigh and I) creep up with him. So he creeps up further and yells at us he wants to "GO SOLO." I was like alright watch for the road markers and stay on course. The course wound through a neighborhood.

GO! - we were off and we had Rileigh, that started with a headache and Kayli that was having a sour attitude. Logan, well he was not to be seen for at least the first mile and a half. We got the attitude adjusted on Kayli and Rileigh's headache was gone. So far so good and we are at Mile 1. We get to our fans - G & G Thatcher, Uncle Rob, Cousin Driggs, Cousin Kayci and Nellie. They inspired us to get through the heat and get done. At this point we had made a big U-turn and the front runners were running past us. I did not even recognize my own kid. Logan was bright red and his hair was standing straight up he was running so fast! Proud Momma moment with a tear in my eye!

At this point Nicole and I ditched Rileigh and Kayli and just had to beat "yellow shirt lady" even though she stopped and chatted at every street corner, we beat her ha ha sweet victory!

Logan was waiting at the finish line and was so proud of himself. He said he ran the whole thing! He got himself 3rd place in the 1st - 2nd grade division. Love how he tries his best and let's nothing stop him. He has so much ambition and I want to borrow some of it, so inspiring.

Kind of freaking out when I saw the below picture at how tall my kids are getting. They are almost to my shoulder. STOP GROWING!

Rileigh and Kayli came into the finish with good spirits! I am so sad I don't have a picture of my sister and I or our Fan Club. Guess there is gonna have to be a next time.

Nicole treated us to a spaghetti dinner and ice cream sundaes!  What a fun family event. We are planning on another for the Fall;) with kids!
